One Way Mirror Window Film Installation - How To

Posted by

Installing One Way Mirror Window Film is similar to other window films, however ours uses a durable cling backing unlike any other product on the marketplace. This allows you to easily install your one way privacy film without any sticky adhesives, but it is durable enough to last for years and is even removable without leaving a residue or damaging your glass.

When you receive your  One Way Mirror Film, unpack the roll from the box. Also inside the box you'll find complete installation instructions and your free installation squeegee. If you ordered additional installation tools these are typically in the same box.

The most important difference between one way mirror film and other window films is that you install the silver reflective side of the film (which has the release liner and active cling) facing out.

Easily install your one way mirror film with these simple steps.

Step 1 - Ensure that your glass is thoroughly cleaned. We recommend using a scraper blade to ensure any hidden dirt or debris is completely cleaned.

Step 2 - Measure your window and cut your window film approximately to size. Leave an extra inch in each direction. Your final cuts will be on your window.

Tip: The release liner for One Way Mirror Film is on the silver/reflective side of the film. This silver side will face out from the room you want privacy in.

Step 3 - Spray the window with your spray bottle, and remove the release liner from the back of the window film. If you have a second set of hands you'll want to be spraying the film when removing the liner at the same time.

Step 4 - Install the film onto the window, and use the squeegee to remove excess water and any bubbles.

Step 5 - Now that your window film is "locked down" to the glass, you can the hard side of the squeegee as a guide and make your final cuts. Squeegee out any remaining water and enjoy your one way privacy film!

If you're installing one way mirror film on an interior window you'll want the reflective side facing out to the brighter room. This will allow you to see out, but no one can see into the darker (observer) room.
